A World of My Own

Often I feel like I’m stuck in a gigantic glass block. Drifting away from the people around me that love me and care for me. My friends and family.
I feel like I’m in a world of my own.
However, sometimes it’s nice to take a break from reality. You have time to ponder very deep things, like time, love, stars, God, heaven . . . such thoughts, though, put me in a rather sober mood.
People misunderstand me. Sometimes, when I’m in my own little world, I imagine perfect people inside tiny, neat, little bedrooms, inside neat little houses on well-groomed lawns, on long, clean streets in a big, peace-filled city.
The people will have well-behaved children and obedient pets. The children will share small, tidy rooms, never fight, bicker, and totally understand each other.
The parents will never scold or yell at their children, because they are perfect! There will be one mother who is loyal to her only husband, one husband who is loyal to his only wife, and they will  never fight. Divorce---what does that word mean?
The city will be based on the Bible and the Bible alone.
The churches will be small, and wooden, with stained-glass windows. The churches will sing praises to the LORD in worship accompanied by the flute, piano, guitar, and violin.
When I’m brought out of my perfect world, and I’m hurt in this crazy real one, I just tell myself that I’ll visit it soon . . .

         And I smile.
