Girl Talk--God is in Control

“In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was
with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the
darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1-4; NIV)

God has been with us since the beginning. He has seen all that has ever happened and all that will
happen. Our God is an omnipresent God. He sees all and is with all. Our God is also a sovereign God. Everything is under His control. If He doesn’t want something to happen, it doesn’t happen. Yet we
have free will. We aren’t God’s puppets; we make our own choices. Yet still God is in control.

Throughout History, people have made choices that have affected the human race . . . in both negative and positive ways.  Adam and Eve decidedto disobey God by consuming the forbidden fruit. Obviously a choice that left a negative effect—sin. But then Abram chose to obey God and leave his homeland in Ur for the unknown. God then promised Abram that He would be a father of many nations. Abram’s lineage, many, many years later, connected to Jesus, the promised Messiah that would save the people from their sins—the sin that came into the world because of Adam and Eve’s
choice.

Hundreds of years after, men and women in History would also make choices that would leave a positive and negative effect. “Saints” like St. Clara, Francis, and Dominic. Heroes like Joan of Arc, William Wallace, andJohn Huss who died for supposed heresy. Eleanor of Aquitaine, a brilliant
and spunky queen of both England and France who believed in chivalry and gentlemanly manners. Her son, Richard the Lionhearted, who fought in the Crusades. Even scientists and writers like Roger Bacon, Dante, and Geoffrey Chaucer. They all left a positive effect on the world.

Evil men like Mohammed II and Genghis Khan, who worked together to capture beautiful Constantinople. Kings like Henry IV, who consistently fought against the Pope, and Saladin, a Muslim sultan who fought against Richard the Lionhearted. Crafty queens, like Wu Zetian, a Chinese empress and sly seductress taken over by a lust for power. She went so far as to kill her own baby, blaming the Emperor’s wife for the murder so she could become queen! Yet God used that for good. Through Wu Zetian, God lifted some of the unjust laws about women in China. History books were made about women, and now they were loved and respected. Through this evil woman, God left a positive effect on China.

Even some popes weren’t so nice. But through them, God helped Christians to realize that the Catholic church was unfair and unjust, causing the start of the Reformation.

Even though it may not seem like it sometimes, God is always there. Everything is working out for his plan. Our God is a sovereign God!

Whatever you may be going through, God is there. Your life may seem like a sizzling mess right now, but in the future, you'll look back and see how one supposed "bad" event led to another and (BOOM!) something good happened. Everything fits together like a giant jigsaw puzzle!

God loves you, girl! And He hopes you know that . . . . do you?

Bye for now,

P.S.

(Violet says hi and that she loves you :D)

  3. It's So true that God is in control! When I read this post, I was going through a time (and still am) where I needed to know that. I did know that He is in control, but it was good encouragement to have it confirmed in even just the title of this post :)

I totally agree with this as I have had many examples of this in my life, and would encourage everyone to trust in the word that the Lord gives them in all circumstances.
